Where is the love?

September 07, 2016 by Lada

When people say things like "you should've just danced with him" you should've just said good morning back" "you should've just gave him your number" " you should've smiled at him" "you shouldn't have been there" instead of saying "bro, walk away" "she doesn't want to be bothered" "you're not entitled to her body just because shes in this space, because of her clothes, etc." "she's not your property " or "shes not here for your enjoyment". If you've ever said any of the above to a female or defended a males reaction to this, you should seriously check yourself. No means no, simply. We are not obligated to be kind or give attention because y'all decided to say something to us. Thats our choice. Girls are taught from birth to stay away from men and boys for various reasons but largely because of fear of sexual abuse. That instilled fear doesnt just go away as we get older. You'd be surprised how many women are raped and molested and keep it a secret for years out of embarrassment, shame, fear, etc. Many of us know domestic violence victims and are victims ourselves. Rest in peace to this young scholar and I truly feel sorry for the young dude who ultimately, lost his freedom due to his sense of entitlement and irresponsibility.
