(Fill in the blank) new year.

Hello folks!

I hope all is well with everyone and if it ain't, I hope you're getting there. First and foremost, I must thank you all for rocking out with me for these past 4 months, it has been so real!  The people that I've met, the stories that I've read and opportunities that I've had is amazing and has definitely pushed me in my hard times. I ask that you continue to share yourself and share with each other in this new year as we have some interesting times ahead of us. lol. So with the new year, of course comes the question of what is your resolution(s)?

Definition of resolution according to Oxford an em': a firm decision to do or not to do something.

Hm, usually when asking about a resolution, many people comment on what they are going to start doing and not necessarily what they need to stop. Upon thinking about it, here's a list of Things I need to stop:

Self doubt about achieving my goals and stepping into true happiness. No more.

Seeking validation from others regarding my looks, talents, abilities.  Nope.

Self sabotage: Anytime things are going welland I'm in a routine, I'm good. However, when stress overcomes me, I make excuses to engage in destructive behaviors. I gotta Chill.

Less social media engagement: it literally waste so much time and energy. I find myself getting too invested in things that I literally did not know about or cared about. Na son.

Things that I'll do:

To Due list - Yes. TO DUE. These lists were every helpful for me in college and allowed me to organize my priorities and schedule naps and "free time". Moving forward,  watching Grey's anatomy will be part of my free time.

Stay to myself: Though I enjoy sharing good news with people, I peeped that it was also used as a form of validation. I need to act as though there is no one else in the world and if no one is watching, would I still go hard for my goals? The answer is yes and I only have myself to prove it to.

SAY NO!: I never say no and I'm always doing something out of obligation even though I know it'll make me anxious or uncomfortable. I'm going to start using that word more. This largely includes engagements with family members and school obligations.

We are so afraid of ourselves and for ourselves and because of that we stay safe and very rarely take chances. For months and years we sit in these situations comfortable uncomfortable and wait for this new time, (most of the times, Mondays) to do what is necessary to make change in our lives. This new year is just the start of another day to get ish right and move forward towards all that you want to achieve in your lifetime. MAKE THINGS HAPPEN NOW. EVERYDAY. Don't wait for someone or something to come along and push you to do you. Seek less validation from others and search more within. Become comfortable with yourself. Don't wait for your gym buddy, don't wait on your best friend, don't wait on your pops, don't wait to have a kid to do right. All we have is now. Lets get it!

Prosperous, joyful, successful, love filled, peace filled, determined, new year.
